2025 Always remember.........

Been thinking I should get round writing a blog and shocked to find that I did not write any blog posts in 2025. It reminds me of what a year it has been…….. into our already busy, productive and fruitful lives came the BIG C!! It caught us unawares Christmas 2024 when my lovely Mick (husband and partner of 51 years) was suddenly rushed into hospital fighting for his life. Thereafter followed a year of hospitals - 2 more emergency admissions, numerous blood transfusions, 8 bouts of chemo, drips, thermometers, more pills than we have ever seen and of course the debilitation that all this causes to the human body.

So I (we) will Always Remember 2025! This is also the title of the new Charlie Mackesy book which we were lucky enough to receive this Christmas as a thoughtful present from our youngest son and his wife who chose it because it has already blessed a lot of people who have had a difficult year. Its subtitle is “The boy, the Mole, the Fox, the Horse and the Storm”. Well of course I was drawn to the words “and the Storm” because of the name of the charity I run but also because of the year we have had. Going onto Charlie Mackesy’s Social Media it is so moving to read some of the stories there of people also being stretched right to their limits.

But of course there have also been some lovely things……. the friends and family who stood by us, prayed for us and supported us even when we were not at our best.

And there have of course been some lovely things to brighten the year. We have a lovely new Granddaughter River who doesn’t believe in sleep but does believe in smiling! Our Worthing grandchildren continue to thrive and contribute positively to the world. Our eldest son Jon got to the world triathlon age group championships in Wollongong Australia and did so well there, he is currently preparing for the Worlds in Spain 2026! Storm has gone from strength to strength this year, especially proud of our knitting and allotment achievements!!

And now I sound like one of those awful Christmas letters that people email you instead of just posting a beautiful, thoughtful Christmas card where it sounds like everything is going swimmingly well with them! Well I don’t mean to do that but I do mean to say that there is always light in the darkness, there is always hope whatever you are going through and in the end……….

Much love to you and yours, look for the light, look for the signs of hope….. every blessing Revie G.
